Vocational qualifications

Vocational education is the foundation of our working life. In vocational education, emphasis is placed on work-life orientation and students’ personal study paths. Vocational qualifications include vocational upper secondary qualifications, further vocational qualifications and specialist vocational qualifications.

Vocational upper secondary qualifications provide the necessary skills for professional competence. They are comprehensive and give students a general eligibility for further studies. Qualifications for both youth and adult students are the same and applications can be submitted throughout the year. Within vocational qualification, it is possible to flexibly choose components that strengthen one’s own skills.

Further vocational qualifications and specialist vocational qualifications are aimed at individuals who already have work experience. For vocational qualification, targeted professional skills are acquired according to the needs of the working life, which are more in-depth than those of a basic qualification or focused on more specific tasks. In a specialist vocational qualification, professional skills are acquired that involve a deeper understanding of the profession or a broad range of expertise.
