We advocate for our members

  • We gather and connect professionals and students in the fields of social and health care, as well as education and guidance.
  • We offer our members a professional community as well as support and security in various work situations.
  • We improve employees’ opportunities to affect their employment work community.
  • We support local union branches, shop stewards, and occupational safety representatives in their advocacy work at workplaces.
  • We negotiate collective agreements and monitor their implementation.
  • We influence legislation in the workplace to promote the interests of our members.

The members of SuPer choose their own representatives.

Important goals

  • Improve members’ salaries and working conditions.
  • Enough trained professionals in workplaces.
  • Ability to use one’s entire skillset and develop professionally at work.
  • All practical nurses are members of SuPer.
  • Continuous development of vocational nurse education.
  • Securing a strong negotiating position.

We work extensively towards a better working life.

Improvements in the working life are not made solely by changing laws, cooperation, joint agreements, and development of new practices are also needed. That is why the union continuously collaborates with decision-makers, officials, both employee and employer organizations, educational institutions, and other partners.

SuPer in action

  • In 2023, SuPer negotiated nearly 3 million euros in compensation for its members.
  • The union is developing a new salary system for practical nurses in collaboration with employer organizations.
  • SuPer advocates for its members’ interests internationally and anticipates the impact of EU decisions and agreements have on the work that SuPer members do in Finland.
